The Hotel Rancho sits in the Cuban countryside, just a few miles outside of the town of Nuevo Gerona, and a few minutes from the local airport. This is not a fancy hotel, but is comfortable and friendly. Anglers are housed in a wing of 10 separate single rooms, all provided with air-conditioning, hot water, and queen sized beds. Both breakfast and dinner are provided at the hotel, in a separate dining area for angling guests. Breakfasts include eggs to order, fresh fruit and fruit juice, and toast. Dinners are usually too large, and offer a variety of rice dishes, fresh seafood, chicken and pork. Appetizers are served shortly after guests return from fishing, and drinks enjoyed in the hotel bar.

El Rancho is about a 15 minute ride from the marina where all the flats skiffs are stored. Anglers then depart for the fishing areas, where the skiff rides can range from 15 to 45 minutes.
